Hello! - Massachusetts Resources

About Hello!

Previous Entry Hello! May. 12th, 2004 @ 09:37 pm Next Entry
A short intro about me: I'm Kat, I've lived in and around W. Mass for the better part of 9 years, E. Mass before that. I'm 26, have a BA in psych (thinking about Socialwork fields.. but well, that's a hard descision to make!), and found out about alot of resources well after I didn't qualify anymore. I kept thinking "oh, but that's for people who really *need* it.. If I just don't buy food, I can pay rent!". So I've become kind of outspoken about various resources around here!

Anyhow, through completely different channels, a girl recently emailed me telling me that she was 6 mo. pregnant with twins, had no job, and had no one to help her. Did (anyone on the group she was posting to) have any baby stuff? She's in Springfield and doesn't have her own transportation.

She's not particularly communicative.. raises all the flags that it could be a scam, though I can't imagine what kind, really. Anyhow, I'd like some resources to send her to (even if the situation was less odd, I don't have anything to give her). Any hints?

Did you get any responses to this? I can do some checking around as I am surrounded by pregnant women at the moment.

(I was looking for communities with my work account, and said "HEY! I know her!")

Nuthin' that wasn't there. But I also haven't seen the girl online since shortly after the twins were born.. no real suprise, I guess. I sent her some crocheted baby clothes.
